DESCRIPTION
Built for a couple who love to cook and entertain, this renovation opens up the ground floor and relocates the kitchen to the centre of the home. High performance appliances and custom detailing were used to elevate economical IKEA kitchen cabinetry. Walnut detailing runs throughout the main floor, wrapping a dropped ceiling, which hides an existing change in the ceiling plane along with plumbing and duct runs, while defining each space. In the dining room, a large sliding door brings much-needed light into the ground floor and connects the living space to the backyard. Upstairs, two existing washroom spaces were combined to create a single large, bright bathroom designed around an original, refinished claw-foot tub below a large skylight.
